INTO THE PITS — Updates
Patch notes from the pit floor, newest first.
The Bar Tab Update — July 2026
The pit got a bar, loot got physical, and the boss roster got two goth sisters and one robot. This is the biggest content drop since launch.
- The PIT STOP: an actual bar counter at the front-left of the pit, neon sign, bartender and all. Walk up, press F, buy a beer with the gold you scooped mid-set.
- The DRUNK meter: the third bar on your HUD. Beer fills it, time drains it, and every drop makes your punches hit harder — up to +50% at full buzz. Past half-drunk your legs start negotiating their own route. Two new upgrades: Iron Liver (more buzz per beer) and Beer Muscles (the buzz hits harder).
- Pickups: loot now lands on the floor and you carry ONE thing at a time. F uses whatever's in your hand. Long Hair Luke drops his white V when he goes down — three swings of chain lightning that arcs through up to five bodies. Other bosses can drop a bass (one huge 170° blast) or an acoustic (one strum and nobody in the pit wants to fight you for six whole seconds).
- Throwables: KO'd moshers sometimes drop a bottle (1-in-4 still has beer in it — chug it, keep the empty, throw the empty) or a pint glass (throw-only, staggers whoever it finds). The band flicks a guitar pick into the crowd after every song; throwing it does almost nothing and we will not be changing that.
- New bosses: The Goth Twins — Raven windmills her hair, Wren stuns you with a stare, and knocking one out makes the other furious. Wi-Fi Andre reworked: he pilots a taser-armed robot from the edge of the pit; five hits on the pilot and he lags to the far side — smash him and the robot dies mid-swing. Cargo Shorts Kyle has left the venue. Adrian and Gym Bro Kyle hit the gym, hard.
- Style overhaul: two body types and twenty hairstyles — Liberty Spikes, Deathhawk, Mullet, Skullet, Devilock, Dreadlocks, Viking Braids, Glam Mane, Rattail, Half-Shaved, Undercut Bun, Bandana, Slickback, and the Alexi. The crowd wears them too.
The Moves Update — July 2026
We watched an instructional video on real mosh pit technique so you don't have to, and then we built all of it.
- You now punch automatically — get close, fists fly. Your buttons are reserved for the special moves. New Fast Hands upgrade raises punch speed.
- Ability loadout: equip up to four moves (SPACE / Q / E / R, or the round buttons on mobile). Empty slots stay empty — your loadout is law.
- Five new abilities: Excessive Elbows (overhead flurry), Hardcore Cartwheel (untouchable roll), The Lawnmower (yank the cord twice, then mow a straight line), Spin Kick (instant 360°), and Throw Change (fling 5 gold, stagger the crowd).
- Pickup Change: gold no longer teleports into your pocket. Knockouts drop real coins on the floor — walk over them to scoop before they're gone.
- The crowd dances now: Stir the Pot, the Two Step, The Possession, Butt on Fire, and Fighting Invisible Demons, especially during between-song lulls.
- Standing still triggers a proper full-hair headbang. Non-negotiable.
The Boss Update — July 2026
- Skinny Jean Gene: tall, lanky, relentless. Walks at you at your own speed forever, sweeps everyone who crowds him, and gets his own purple spotlight and nameplate with a health bar. Comes with a full entrance — the crowd parts for him.
- Shirtless Shawn: an absolute unit. Shrugs off knockback, lumbers slowly, and every few seconds plants, flexes (that's your warning), and bull-charges in a straight line, trampling everything on it.
- Bosses arrive from ~90 seconds into a set and rotate. Boss knockouts pay 1,000 score and a very large pile of coins.
- Dev mode for the curious: press the backtick key ( ` ) — trigger any event or boss.
The Live Pit Update — July 2026
- Custom soundtrack support: the game plays real tracks, announces them by the stage ("NOW PLAYING"), detects each song's BPM automatically, and syncs the crowd's headbanging, the strobes and the light rig to the beat.
- Between songs the pit calms down: most of the crowd wanders off, the brawling stops, events pause — catch your breath until the next track kicks in and everyone floods back.
- Wall of Death rework: both walls form evenly-spaced lines, the crowd closes ranks so nobody can hide at the edges, and the wall aims at your row. One wall, one impact — the pit refills after.
- Circle pit rework: even spacing around the ring, an inward spiral as it runs, and a pit-closing collapse at the end that punishes anyone camping the centre.
- Power Ballad: new rare event — the band's healing light. Stand in it.
The Foundation — July 2026
- The pit itself: a 2.5D venue with a live band, sweeping light rig, barrier crowd, and a floor full of moshers with fully simulated flailing arms, whipping hair, and proper ragdoll knockouts.
- Events: Wall of Death, Circle Pit, Stage Diver. Upgrades, abilities, combo scoring.
- Character customisation: skin, shirt, jeans, hair style and colour, beard.
- Global scoreboard: set a pit name, post your best survival time, become a Pit Legend.
- Score and gold split into separate currencies — score for glory, gold for shopping.
